We recommend using a plastic container exclusively for drying flowers. Silica Gel is certified safe and non-toxic and conforms to ASTM D4236.
- ACTIVA Products Flower Drying Art - Silica Gel
- Shadow Box
- Soft brush
- Glue gun
Pour a layer of flower drying art silica gel in the bottom of an air-tight container. Make sure the layer is at least 1” - 2” deep, or deep enough to hold the flowers.
Place each flower carefully making sure they don’t touch each other. Pour silica gel on top of the flowers making sure they are covered completely.
Seal the container and move it to a shelf for drying. Make sure that you don’t tip or shift the content. It is best to not move the container until you are ready to remove the flowers. After 7-9 days, the drying is complete.
When ready, gently remove the flowers and carefully shake out the silica gel with a soft brush
Spray the flowers with hairspray, this will work as a sealer to prevent breakage and color fade.
Let the flowers dry, later start gluing each flower one by one with the glue gun, create your own unique design, add as many as desired.
And it’s ready!
