Materials Needed:
- Styrofoam small ball
- Marker
- Acrylic Paint (colors: navy blue, white, black, baby blue)
- Small paint brushes
- 1 Package Hearty Clay 5.25 oz
- Activ-Tools Clay Tools Set
- Activ-Tools Clay Roller Kit
- Activ-Tools Clay Sculpting Wheel
- Spray bottle with water
- Plastic cup with water
Step 1:
Open the Clay Roller Kit and select the pair of rails 3/16” thickness place one on each side of the base.
Step 2:
Open the package of Hearty Clay, cut in half for making one whale, preserve the other half of clay inside an airtight container.
Step 3:
Start rolling a ball of clay, flatten it out with the roller.
Step 4:
When the clay it's smooth and even, then it's ready to be placed on top of the styrofoam ball, gently press, make sure you cover all the ball, start creating the shape of the whale’s body.
Step 5:
Repeat previous steps for creating the tail of the whale.
Step 6:
Once you have the shape of the body, it’s time to use the Activ-Tools for working on the details.
Step 7:
Spray water on the whale, and smooth out the wrinkles on the clay using the Activ-Tool.
Step 8:
Use the Activ-Tools for cutting the excess of clay and for making the shape of the tail.
Step 9:
It’s time to create the fins… cut two small pieces of clay and mold them in the shape desired, for attaching them to the body, score both sides with the pointy Activ-Tool, apply water and mush them together.
Step 10:
Now let’s create cute eyes… cut two very small pieces of clay and mold them in the shape desired, again, for attaching them to the body, score both sides with the pointy Activ-Tool, apply water and mush them together.
Step 11:
Use the amazing Clay Sculpting Wheel for finishing details and paint with acrylics as desired!
